So today started like any other day, I logged in to realize that I’m on an east coast server that is still on a west coast daily reset (I hate this). So I decided to do some Argus dailies on my rogue and made a bit of gold. Admittedly I boosted this rogue because I got a free boost with the expansion so I have geared her out in the gear that is available to me without raiding. I need to do raid finder and complete the Argus stuff but I hate raiding honestly, got burned out on it in the beginning of the expansion and just can’t get into it anymore. So after that I que’d for a few battlegrounds and won 2 lost 1. By this time it was 11am (EST) and I could go do my Darkshore dailies. I went, got a few upgrades and that was that.
Next I logged into my 2 day old 110 death knight (yes I boosted him too, because leveling sucks at the end of an expansion). I did the Darkshore dailies and got a shiny new two handed sword. This was actually a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to go blood and solo everything in Argus (I don’t group much). I did all of the quests and got a few upgrades here as well. This was the majority of the day, but this afternoon I decided to try out both unholy and frost in a battleground or two. Being under geared for frost I did terrible as frost, and did okay as unholy. I lost nearly everything including every 1v1 I was presented with. This really started to wear on me and I was starting to regret boosting him. I decided to go kill some rares in Argus to see if I could get a drop for my frost offhand. About 20 minutes later I had 2 (both the same stats) and I already had the 210 sword from Darkshore from day one of dailies for my main hand. At this point I had been playing almost all day and needed to take a break.
Fast forward to 9:30 pm est…
At about 9:30 I was watching a movie on Netflix (that wasn’t really that good) and saw my long time gaming buddy Hondas (I’d link it but the website wont show me anyone but me) was logged in. I decided to hop on and he immediately sent me and invite and we rolled out a few BG’s. The first BG we get is Battle for Gilneas and by a miracle of god we won in like 1 minute. I did pretty well and held my own against a rogue but the battle was over quickly (I was unholy at this point). I decided for the next BG I was going to try frost, and this turned out to be a key moment that we will explore in a few moments. We got back to back Warsong Gulches, and lost both 3 to zip, but that wasn’t a bad thing, because I found out how strong frost really is in PVP. Oh my the damage was ridiculous and as you can see I don’t really have much gear. I was killing 1v2’s and it was easy. The next BG was even better as I was walking around the battlefield like a raid boss with a pocket healer murdering everything in sight. Who needs mobility when you got Death grip and Chains of ice right? Needless to say it was the most fun I have had losing all week!
The ultimate decision
So as you may have guessed it by now, my death knight will be my main for BFA. I love the way rogue plays and she will be my second class to 120, but the death knight is just better at nearly everything at this point. If I need DPS I have 2 specs to mess around with, and if I need to tank or solo an elite I’ve got blood. Nothing says “luvin” like versatility!
That’s it boys and girls, I leave you with this:
“Through the valleys and peaks of Mount Hyjal, across the shifting sands of Silithus, against the Legion’s dread armies – we have fought. We are the nameless, faceless, sons and daughters of the Alliance. By the Light and by the might of the Alliance, the first strike belongs to us and the last strike is all that our enemies see.
We are 7th Legion.”
